In the Matter of Appointing Carolyn Gallaway ) RESOLUTION NO. 91 20
as Clerk of the Board for Jefferson County )
WHEREAS,RCW 36.32.110 authorizes the County Commissioners to designate ". . .
one of its employees to serve as clerk. . ." and the Jefferson County Commissioners designated a
"Clerk of the Board"on July 20, 1981 by passage of Resolution No. 73-81; and,
WHEREAS,Resolution No. 068-07 was approved in 2007 adopting policies for the
conduct of business related to the duties of the Clerk of the Board, including defining"Clerk of
the Board" as, "The employee appointed by the Board of County Commissioners to this position.
Other staff of the Commissioner's Office may be designated to do the duties of the Clerk of the
Board; and,
WHEREAS,the County Commissioners wish to appoint Carolyn Gallaway as Clerk of
the Board effective January 1, 2021 to perform the duties of Clerk of the Board of
Commissioners;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,by the Jefferson County Board of County
Commissioners that Carolyn Gallaway is hereby appointed as Clerk of the Board, effective
January 1, 2021.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution repeals and replaces Resolution

APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21 st of December, 2020.

SUBJECT: RESOLUTION NO. re: Appointing Carolyn Gallaway as Clerk of the
Board for Jefferson County Effective January 1, 2021
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Board approval is requested of a Resolution appointing Carolyn Gallaway as Clerk of the Board to fill this
vacancy effective January 1, 2021. Carolyn Gallaway has served as the Deputy Clerk of the Board since
April, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This position is within the adopted County budget.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners approve the Resolution
appointing Carolyn Gallaway as Clerk of the Board for Jefferson County effective January 1, 2021.
