SUBJECT: Advisory Board Reappointments (2) re: Jefferson County Lodging Tax Advisory
Committee (LTAC); Three (3) Year Terms to Expire August 15 and 21, 2023
Respectively; 1) Representing Port Ludlow Associates, Diana Smeland; and 2)
Representing Kalaloch Lodge, Joe Alfano
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
The terms of two Lodging Tax Advisory Committee members have expired and they have requested to be
reappointed. Both members represent tourism activities in Jefferson County.
ANALYSIS:
1) Diana Smeland has served on the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee since 2019 as a representative of
the lodging industry who is engaged in business interests subject to the excise tax. She has requested to
be reappointed to the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC).
2) Joe Alfano has served on the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee since 2017 as a representative of the
lodging industry who is engaged in business interests subject to the excise tax. He has requested to be
reappointed to the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC).
FISCAL IMPACT:
None
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Advisory Board Reappointments (2) re: Jefferson County Lodging Tax Advisory Committee
(LTAC); Three (3) Year Terms to Expire August 15 and 21, 2023 Respectively; 1) Representing Port
Ludlow Associates, Diana Smeland; and 2) Representing Kalaloch Lodge, Joe Alfano
