Mr. Mclaughlin,
Thanks for your inquiry. As county health officer, I work very closely with Jefferson Healthcare
on COVID vaccine deployment. Jefferson County Public Health is not "in charge of
scheduling", however. By virtue of your age you are eligible for the current tier of scheduling.
This can be done through the Jefferson Healthcare website at COVID-19 Vaccine - Jefferson
Healthcare . You can also call the Jefferson County Department of Emergency Management
who are staffing a phone bank for those who have trouble with online scheduling. Jefferson
Healthcare is not able to make additional appointments until it receives more vaccine from
the State of Washington. Vaccine supply falls far short of the current demand. There are
currently 1.2 million Washington State residents 65 years of age and older. Over 12,000
reside in Jefferson County. Washington State receives only 100,000 doses of vaccine per
week. That is only about 1,000 doses per week for Jefferson County. As national vaccine
production improves, access will improve. In the meantime, Jefferson Healthcare is working
diligently to serve as many people as they can.

Regarding two days attempting to register for covid 19 vaccine.
I am 76 years old and take infusion treatments every 8 weeks. This makes me immune compromised
as are, I would venture to say, 90% of those who use the Infusion center at the Jefferson Hospital.
Should not those who are compromised be some of the first to receive a vaccine?
While checking with the hospital staff they explained that the county health dept is in charge of
scheduling. There has been some problems in the directions for signing up. As I understand it,
because I am not yet 85, the instructions are to go to My Chart.
In doing so it states on one hand that it is a new service and I would not need a google code however
it will not allow me to proceed with out one. Google sent 3 different codes with in seconds of each
other and would accept none.
My opinion is, too many players , no real step by step procedure,
Just what percentage of the 75 and older group is computer/internet savvy enough to navigate all of
these systems?
Note* I live alone.
Where do people such as myself get real help?
