Greetings JOB members.
I am writing in support of funding Bayside Housing and Services' proposal for the
construction of a second "wooden tent" project. It is my understanding that they
were penalized in the scoring mostly because they did not have a site secured.
Since the timeline for building another 12 structures takes us well into the summer
of this year there is still adequate time to secure the site. I also have good reason to
believe that while a site has not yet been secured there are several potential sites
currently under discussion or in active negotiation.
Based on the successful completion of the current "tiny house" village and the
outstanding community response in terms of both volunteerism and financial
support I urge you to fund Bayside's proposal in full.
I urge you to feel very confident that a site will be found and that our community
will continue to rise to the challenge of homelessness.
