Share air time and encourage all members to participate DRAFT MINUTES The February 17th, 2021 meeting of the Empowered Teens Coalition was held at the Zoom meeting 3:30 – 4:30 PURPOSE OF THE MEETING: Reports: community update and news; Communication Development Plan, Going forward: action planning and budget 2021-2022. Facilitators for this meeting: Denise Banker In attendance: Mark Gudger (Education), Lindsay Scalf (Community coalition), Ciela Meyer (Mental Health), Chris Hoffman Hill (Business), Greg Brotherton (Government), Tanya Barnett (Youth serving). Time/Facilitator Activity 3:30 Denise Called meeting to order. Approve Agenda: Chris, Greg, all; Minutes: Lindsay, Ciela, all. 3:35 All Check in and Update: Activity one challenge, two successes; District Erica White, SAP, has resigned her position, school and ESD are advertising for new SAP; Teen Center will be helping with torturing; upcoming meeting of Family/Youth Resource Collaboration March 12, 3:30. 4:00 All Report: ~Discussed ongoing Communications Plan and goals re. Someone to talk to (protective). Decided to change the goal to: Decrease number of students who report hopelessness (protective). ~Discussed Life Skills in school. Mark suggested offering it as part of a 7/8 or 9/10 science cohort. Denise will talk with Mark re. planning. ~Discussion SOS (Signs of Suicide) one-day suicide prevention education opportunity. Is it on SAMHSA list? Denise will check. See if we can fund it for 2021-2022 school year. ~March, April, May, June will be planning meetings for next year’s Action Plan, 2021-2022. Will need mentor training. ~Our next meeting will be Wednesday, March 17th via Zoom. 4:30 Denise Meeting ended at 4:30. The March 17th, 2021 meeting of the Empowered Teens Coalition will be held at the Via Zoom from 3:30-4:30, unless otherwise notified.
