SUBJECT: Transfer of Vaccination Services
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Jefferson County Public Health and Department of Emergency Services
are taking over primary Covid-19 vaccination responsibilities from Jefferson Healthcare later this month.
There is also the possibility of taking over Covid-19 testing and the nurse hotline. The County departments
are currently in the planning process with Jefferson Healthcare regarding logistics. The Commissioners will
be briefed on the status of the planning effort and discuss potential funding and staffing needs associated
with this transfer of services.
ANALYSIS: The County needs to be prepared to resume providing important services as seamlessly
as possible later this month.
RECOMMENDATION: The BOCC gets an update on planning efforts to date and understands the
logistical and financial obligations required to successfully implement this transfer of services.
