The filter sock should be pulled out and hosed off every 6 months to avoid clogging and backing up into the house. Rubber gloves and other precautions must be taken to avoid contact with sewage. 'The tank should be pumped every 3-5 years. 'The drain field area needs to be seeded to prevent erosion. 'The D-box should be opened once a year to make sure that the outlet pipes are all level. There is a "Speed Leveler" dial on each outlet pipe that can be turned to level the outlets 'The large green lids on the septic tank and the green cover over the D-Box must be secured at all times with screws or bolts to prevent hazard and tampering.
