BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
CONSENT AGENDA REQUEST
TO: Board of County Commissioners
FROM: Mark McCauley, Interim County Administrator/Central Services Director
DATE: May 24,2021
SUBJECT: Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) Delegation of Authority for
the Interim County Administrator to Sign a Professional Services Agreement for
Appraisal Services
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
On Monday, May 17, 2021 the BoCC signed a letter of intent regarding Assessor's Tax Parcel
001094006. The letter of intent gives the County 45 days to perform its due diligence on the parcel.
Therefore, time is of the essence. Delegating authority to the Interim County Administrator will
reduce the time to enter into an agreement with a MAI certified appraiser by almost a full week.
The appraiser will be selected from those appraisers who responded to the County's solicitation of
MRSC's appraisal consultant roster for qualifications and price.
ANALYSIS:
The letter of intent gives the County the ability to extend the letter of intent a month at a time for
$5,000 per month. It is in the County's financial interest to have the appraisal completed with the
initial 45-day period, hence the urgency of this request for delegation of authority.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This request has no fiscal impact.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the BoCC delegate authority to the Interim County Administrator to sign a professional
services agreement with a MAI certified appraiser to complete an appraisal on Assessor's Tax
Parcel 001094006
