Box 1786 Port Townsend, WA 98368 360-344-8385 simon@studio-stl.com TRANSMITTAL DATE: 3-31-2021 BUILDING PERMIT: BLD20-00615 OWNER: Peggy Ann & Brent Bierbaum OWNER ADDRESS: PO Box 100 Quilcene, WA 98376 SITE PARCEL #: 702151001 Regarding this residence that is currently under construction, the owners, The Bierbaums, asked a County Inspector, Jim, on site if he had any objection to them omitting the ceiling gypsum board in the vaulted living space, and apply tongue & groove wood planks directly to the underside of the roof rafters. The inspector indicated that this question would need to be confirmed by the building engineer. Attached to this letter is email correspondence with the engineer of record, Scott Headrick, who clarified that it is fine to substitute tongue & groove paneling for 5/8” gypsum wall board. Please forward this information to the inspector for his review. Included Document • Email from Scott R. Headrick, P.E. of Zenovic & Associates, Inc. Thank you, Simon Little 3/31/2021 studioSTL, Inc. The County inspector is saying they need confirmation from the engineer that this is acceptable. Can you respond whether this is ok or not from your end? If so, we can handle the air barrier assembly from our end.
