and City of Port Townsend Council
Joint Special Meeting — May 24, 2021, 6:30 p.m.
Jefferson County Courthouse— Commissioners' Chambers

CALL TO ORDER: City of Port Townsend Mayor/Councilmember Michelle Sandoval
called the Joint Special meeting to order, recited the Pledge of Allegiance and led roll call. Chair Kate
Dean called the Special Meeting of the Board of County Commissioners to order in the presence of
Commissioner Greg Brotherton and Commissioner Heidi Eisenhour. All Elected Officials and staff
participated in the meeting remotely.
DISCUSSION re: Law Enforcement Policy and Legislative Changes: City of Port
Townsend Manager John Mauro provided a Power Point presentation which reviewed the following
topics to discuss as a group: consistent policy, equipment and body cameras, training, drug enforcement
policy, use of force and measures not adopted. The participants of the meeting discussed various law
enforcement topics and legislative changes.
DISCUSSION re: Updates from Each Body: The independent bodies did not provide
updates. Some participants discussed miscellaneous topics and provided closing remarks.
NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT: The meeting adjourned at 8:16 p.m.
