A forward for your interest as before… Karen From: Scott Bender [mailto:scott@benderllc.com] Sent: Friday, September 21, 2007 11:51 AM To: 'Mackie, Sandy (Perkins Coie)'; 'Garth Mann'; 'Elin McLeod'; 'Michael Read'; 'Wayne S. I believe I can use most of the existing figures for the presentation, but am thinking about an extra. I suspect a power point presentation would be the best way; I assume that a projector will be provided. Sandy, you mentioned that water is the ‘big deal’. I saw only one comment on this, so please let me know if the commissioners or others have specific questions or concerns. Please let us know when to arrive for the meeting, and who the audience will be. -----Original Message----- From: Mackie, Sandy (Perkins Coie) [mailto:AMackie@perkinscoie.com] Sent: Friday, September 21, 2007 11:28 AM To: Garth Mann; Elin McLeod; Scott Bender; Michael Read; Wayne S. We can then answer specific questions. 1. Water Supply//water rights/ Water treatment system About 30 minutes since this seems to be the "big deal". (a) the nature of the soil and aquifer (b) the quantity of water used by the resort © the multi tiered water system i. existing 28 acre feet ii. Sharing with pleasant Tides (optional and only if they agree but we have agreed to explore it.) iii. Rainwater harvesting iv reuse/recycling v. Aquifer draw d. Assumptions behind-- i no salt water intrusion ii no impact to neighboring water rights iii. Viability of reduced use assumptions (real examples where this has been achieved or hypothetical and if so based on what. iv. Conclusion in the report that zero net draw is a possibility. e. a brief description of a class A recycle water system I how it would work ii are we planning to capture storm water from both Golf course and marina iii how the system is designed and reviewer to make sure that specific contaminants do not leak through and contaminate the ground water (questions were asked about medicines and other potential non traditional contaminants which could affect water quality--are these addressed in a class "A" approval system f. What are the soils like g. how do we keep untreated water from infiltrating into the groundwater. 2. The Golf Course (about 15 minutes) a. How are critical areas streams and the canal protected during grading and construction. b. How does a modern golf course design work to prevent infiltration contamination and runoff I what are the King County standards ii what are the Audubon standards and golf professional standards iii what kind of monitoring is used to assure that the system is working iv. where have such courses been installed in the region and how are they working 3. The Marina Access (about 10 minutes) a. how does the circulation work between the resort and the Marina b. How do boaters get there materials to and from trucks when they are loading and unloading. 4. General questions to the panel--balance of the evening-- The three presentations can be achieved through boards, power points or any combination (use exhibits form the DEIS or appendix unless something new is absolutely essential) and feel free to share the time as needed among yourselves to present a coherent story--Send me a note back on Monday as to whom will be presenting under each-- Garth--I do not know if it is you or the engineering who would be presenting the marina access materials (we do need a large blow up of the marina link to parking to show how it works) . At this point I would just as soon not go into the details of SR 101 design although the engineer needs to be there to answer questions form the EIS as they may arise.
