HomeMy WebLinkAbout021Karen: I have reviewed the Pleasant Harbor Marina and Golf Resort DEIS and have the following comments. 1. Although the DEIS states that Wetlands C and D will be avoided and Figure 3-12 indicates that stormwater will be directed to Wetland B and the 2 non-wetland kettles on the site, there are several places in the DEIS that make reference to water being directed to the kettles (indicating water may be directed to any of the kettles on the site) and, in at least one place in the DEIS, it says that the wetlands will be incorporated into storage ponds (which would be considered a wetland impact). Therefore, a general statement is needed to clarify that: (1) the Wetland B kettle and the two non-wetland kettles will be incorporated into the overall water system associated with the proposed development, and (2) water will not be directed to Wetlands C and D, except as necessary to maintain existing wetland hydrologic conditions, and that any water directed to these wetlands will be released outside the existing wetland buffers and allowed to infiltrate or sheet flow (from an energy dissipater such as a level spreader) to the wetlands. 2. The legend for figures 3-12 and 3-19 should be revised to say Standard Wetland Buffer Areas (not Proposed Wetland Buffer Areas). 3. It is my understanding that a wetland evaluation was conducted on the west side of Highway 101. Has anything been submitted in writing from the biologists stating their findings? The results of that evaluation should be included as an appendix. Let me know if you have any questions, Donna. ________________________________ From: Karen Barrows Sent: Wednesday, October 24, 2007 12:19 PM To: Stacie Hoskins Cc: Al Scalf; Mackie, Sandy (Perkins Coie); David W. He and I discussed the length of the meeting, and agree that a three-hour block of time will be optimal. Will any of those dates work for you? (To all who are copied, we would very much appreciate your presence if you’re available; please advise.) Thank you.
