Johnson; 'Garth Mann'; peckassoc@comcast.net Subject: Re: water quality monitoring plan Hi Don, Our office does water quality sampling in the Hood Canal, but we gather data on temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen and conductivity. What we would like your water quality monitoring plan to test for, we don't sample. I listed a few parameters we would like you to include in the plan. If you want I can resend that email. Monitoring this would mainly require you to collect water samples and send them to a laboratory for analysis. Also, using a consultant firm to establish a cage mussel study for monitoring contaminates and pathogens is a good option. We were thinking that monitoring at a couple points along black point and the estuary, including the marina, would be appropriate. Feel free to ask more questions as they arise. Earlier you indicated the Tribe would be able to help with sampling since you already do work in the area, I hope we can finalize that when necessary. My question now is where do you currently sample? My understanding is the plan I'm to write is specific to Pleasant Harbor. I believe there is already sampling outside the harbor and near the Duckabush River. Not sure if that is related to DOH or the University research projects. Hope all is well with you, Thanks for your help! don Don Coleman Pleasant Harbor Marina Maintenance and Security supervisor don@pleasantharbormarina.com Cell: 206-714-1482 Jessica Coyle Tribal Response Program Manager Natural Resources Dept.
