Dear Mr. Johnson;
Felicity Christensen
Slip D14,
Pleasant Harbor Marina,
308913 US Hwy 101,
Brinnon, WA 98320
March 26th 2012
The Pleasant Harbor Marina Advisory Committee was set up to facilitate communication between Garth Mann the C.E.O of
Statesman Corporation and the current owner of the marina and the moorage tenants and slip licensees. Representing both
parties, this worthwhile group of people have attempted and succeeded in ironing out any problems or miscommunications
between us since their inception four years ago when the Statesman Group took over ownership of Pleasant Harbor.
When the Advisory Committee recently called a special meeting to update us on the long awaited plans for the new parking
and traffic control plans in the marina we were dismayed at their report. It would appear that the owner is not listening to
the input from his tenants or from their representatives in the Advisory Committee. We were advised to write to you of our
concerns.
I have long awaited the development of this resort and I am enthused about the overall benefits to the community of
Brinnon and the job creation it will create. However, the plans for the access to the tenant's and licensees' slips are asinine
and unworkable. The changes proposed would severely restrict and inconvenience us in accessing our boats and would I
believe in the long run deter from the overall profitability of the marina. This would in turn affect the value of our slips. The
changes in access are not necessary for the binding site plan to be implemented and are the result of having owners that
have no marina business or boating experience.
If building permission is allowed to go through I can see this new access as being responsible for the demise of this marina.
Why would future tenant boaters come here to put up with such inconvenience and extra expense brought on by needing
to run shuttles? As for having to pay extra for access after-hours, obviously Mr. Mann has never had to fight traffic on 101
or had to plan for tides and currents!
As one of the live -a -boards here I have a serious interest in the resolution of this problem as my access is also to my home!
Yours Sincerely,
Felicity Christensen
