Dear Mr. Johnson: We have been informed of the proposed access and parking changes at the Pleasant Harbor Marina. We are concerned that the changes will impede the ability of Skokomish Tribal Members to conduct their Treaty reserved right to harvest shellfish and finfish. Specifically, the Tribe cannot rely on a marina shuttle system or allow marina staff to assist with loading and unloading fishing gear. These proposed changes will impede our ability to conduct fishing operations that occur during all hours of the day and may delay enforcement access to their boat should an emergency situation occur. The Tribe is therefore asking the County not to permit the changes and require that the Marina maintain its current parking options. Sincerely, Joseph Pavel Director, Skokomish Natural Resources
