A brief history of our connection is that in 1989 we learned of Pleasant Harbor and began reserving slips for shrimp season. We trailered our boats, from home, one and a half hours to the marina, for the next five years. Our family consists of four children, six grandchildren and now a great -grand baby. We all came to catch shrimp, crab, and shuck oysters, in Hood Canal. We swam in the pool, soaked in the hot tub, & ate pizza from the deli. In 1994, we were proud to purchase a 40' slip and be apart of the marina. We loved our new neighborhood. A few years later we purchased a second slip, but recently sold. One of our daughter's also owns a 40' slip. In 1994 we originally purchased our 40' slip for use, and also for an investment purpose. To- day, eighteen years later, our thoughts are different. We are older (and hopefully wiser) and feel it is a mistake and will be a real inconvenience to take away direct ramp access for loading and loading. Also, we believe it is wrong to force us to lose our "right to use one non -assigned park- ing space in the marina parking area" that was part of our contract when we purchased our slip. In reference to the one way lane of traffic that has been "FOREVER", we question as to " why create an expense and an inconvenience" if the system is not broken? Then, to reconfigure a two way road, with a turn around is so ridiculous!!! We are not against change, but these proposed changes do not benefit the marina, nor is it an advantage to us or to them, or it is doubtful it would not even be an attraction to new customers. We actually thought this one way lane would have grandfather rights. We hope that you, Jefferson County Development Department, do focus and accept input from our group, and do not ignore the thoughts that make us boaters want to frequent the marina. We have confidence in your decision making regarding if permits are to be granted or not. We need peace of mind knowing our investments are secure. a=j C Gary & Patricia Cornwell 364 Monte -Elora Road Montesano, WA 98563 PC: Statesman
