HomeMy WebLinkAbout042TO: April 1, 2012 David Wayne Johnson Jefferson County Development Department 621 Sheridan Street Port Townsend, WA 98368 David, We are long-term slip owners at the Pleasant Harbor Marina in Brinnon, WA. As you are most likely aware, the Statesman Group is planning to redevelop the area and marina. We've been informed that the development plans call for the removal of most of the marina parking in its current placement and will be moved to an area on the level of HWY 1011/3 of a mile south of the existing location. It has been suggested that this is mandated by the county to meet building/permit regulations. Our questions for you are the following: 1. If the parking would remain in the current location and configuration, are there any specific regulations/requirements or updates that need to be met for continued use? 2. If parking is to be moved to the new location, what are the requirements for overnight and long term parking next to a State Highway? a. Lighting/security/fencing b. Safety guard rail barriers between parking and highway travel lanes 3. Under our existing lease agreement, we are guaranteed parking and access to the marina and our slips. Are there conditions where this guarantee can be ignored and taken away? The amount of proposed available parking is much lower than the existing parking. 4. Is there going to be ADA compliance from the proposed parking location to the marina. I am familiar with ADA specifications, and I there to be an ADA review of the proposed parking design/location to the marina slips by the county engineering department. Thank you for your time. We look forward to hearing from you in regard to these questions soon. Regards, Dave and Jane Blando 3933 NW Currawong Ct. Camas, WA 98607 360 834 2034
