Dear David,
I am a tenant here at Pleasant Harbor Marina and I'm writing to express my
consternation at the new dock access and parking regulations recently proposed by
Statesman Corporation. This is a working marina, one used by commercial
fishermen, many from the various Indian tribes we have here, as well as tourists,
residents and vacationing boaters. If allowed to go through this access plan would
reduce this marina to a pretty play toy in the imagination of Mr. Garth Mann, who
obviously has no concept of what boaters need and what makes a marina work!
There has been a working marina here at Pleasant Harbor for several years and it
has been the hub of commercial and tourist activity for this town during the
summer and especially shrimp season. Without decent access people would turn
away from using this marina and I think this would adversely affect the
continuance of this business.
Please do not allow this proposed change to be used. With further thought and
planning we can come up with a better way to please all parties.
