very exclled as lhis wa6 for a speaial occasbn. l & were
planning to bfing my dog ia Shih-Tzu, small dog ot 1olbs)

didn't knor,t/ whicfr rooms were pet-lriendly (huh?) and

amazing. The rooms are spacious, clean and very
funct;onal. My foom has a tull kitchen. washeridryer,
fileplace. balcony **ith fumiture, etc. I wish lcould stay

was disappoimed to find it covered in parsley. They also

matter of perscnal taste, of course. but you should be
aware lhat they may surpaise you with unnecessary
additions. The food's also overpriced. I recomnrenc

Portab. All in all, itwas a nice gleuway and cusrcmer
service was suffiiient.
On Jr l, gth of th.s year, I called anc, lsft messages on :l|e
cuslonEr service line requestrng infomation for possibly
planning my owr wedciing in Surrcadia in August 2015. I
filled out the online reqLesl form on this date. I never heard
back, despite a second voic€mail. No catls r€tumed, no
email response. Today. I received nolicelhatwe need to
close our reques* date, as the dedEon deadline I posted is

The roorns are nice I I recommend gelting a suile. Ours had
a full kitchen. washer/dryer, tub and sho\ryer, balcony. lt
was perfecl! The food al the lcdge is fanlastic, and at the
bar yoJ can bring drinks back to your room. I needed a
later checkout (Vpically 'l 1am) and the man at the fronl
desk grrciously let us check oul at 1pm.
llvould have gi\€n 5 stars exceptwhen I took ny sm tc
the park I didnl se€ the parkr€ lot, and parked irst ofl tf|e
side o[ the road. A parldng ofiicer nearty lssued me a ticket

A group of 5 {riends and I planned a 3 night'rip to stay near
Suncadia, plenrhg io rent cross country skis there and
make use of lheir trail syslem ,or several da!,s. \ /€ called a
few monihs in advance and were told renta s wgre
alailable, and my frbnc called the week before to douEle
checi due lo lhe loly srEw levels. She was bld that ttre
lrail syster :nighl be dosed, but thai we could rent skis anC
lake them to a nearby area wilh more snow. Thus assured,

situalion and ask if lhey krEw of anywhere eise we could
rent skis or if, since it was thei fault we didn't have any.

I had a otr-site rneeting at Suncad'a and drove the 90 miis
from Seattle b the reso'i. ThE \r€bsite is lacking (it did not
shoy!' that it had wifi, cn,y wired). I lound out only later
lirough the iGroon' hotel amenities mok that it was
wirdess as vdelf . I diln't bolher to try as I did not see any
inbrmatjon anywhere on open wifi.
I diJ not pay {or my room (as it was coverec under the
conlerence being heE) so I can': speak to the pnoe but I
imagine itwas not cjieap.
Check-in wasnl unlll 4prr but I was abb to get early check-
in which lappreciaEd.
My room was Eeautifuland likely a tirneshare when not
behg used as a hotel roqn. ll was Ii<e a mini-apartmenl
with a fully-stccked cupboard cornplete wju breakfast bar,
dishuasher and washer & dryer.
The room opened ixto a larg€ patio witrl lwo entry doors
(llyirE room & ofFbedroom).

The one area I often rate h3tels are in lhe bathroom. lf you

lo have a n'rce bathroom.
I waked in and tu.ned on the ljghB to und a LARGE
balhrocm (l can'1 recall one so large in the hst year lve
been lEvding all over the US). The shk & tub $rere both
Kohlefs and the lub was sunken and had a special fast fil
as vlell as a drain which was hidden by a handle. This was
unique and whafs great b that you can have Ty,Jo peopb
sit on either end and m one has to srt a) againsl the water
nozzle or b) with the drain on their bcttom. I tock a baf! of
course end it rr€s g'eal! The free-standing showerwas atso
nkre - overs,zed showerhead and decefit wate!' pressure
The downsides -
lf you've ever been to Eastern WA, Cle Elum is 3little in the
middle of noryhere. Th6e is m (o: very limited) cell
reoepdm. Thg s-Enage l€dir€ into the lodge to check-in
was limited. They are cunenlly buihing condos & adding
onto the resort (it as 1200 acles). lt is pretty easy to get
turned around and rhere was no sign direcllng you back to
the rnain road to get to the hotel. I spenl a good 30 mins
getting lost until I fcund my way bacr
Tie room was bea utirual but the patic doors were bft op€n
(unsJre lfjust tfiat day or ove.night) but seUeral dlflerenl
bugs got in:o the room (when I closed the docr ttrey
f,Ecame apparent). lam deathly allersic to rnosqu.toes and
so had a chdle.rging t'rne.
\vff is tree anc open but not listed anywher€ (rn room or in
lobby oi on website.). Having traveled onen, I don't assurne
every hotel or resod has free wifi as mcst eithe: have a
'pay rate or it is nDt consistent.
Overall, it was a great p{ace lo b'ing your famaly and kids
to. There are r:any trails and local things to do as lorE as
