MPR Planning Commission site visit

Hello Everyone,
Garth Mann has asked me to summarize the planning commission site visit April 21
Cynthia Koan, Thomas Giske, Jean Ball, Mark Jokems, Richard Hall, Gary Felder and one other (forgot his name, sorry)
participated.
We met at Pleasant Harbor Marina about 10:00 am and started with a description of marina improvements. We drove
to the black point property, drove thru the high point on the north side of Kettle B. We then parked by the old
playground and walked to the south side of Kettle B. Mark Jokems wanted to lead the group to the bottom of Kettle B
because he had been there before. Three members needed to leave after the Kettle B exploration, Mark remained in
Kettle B to explore further. Cynthia, Jean and I took a walking tour part down to the south camp sites overlooking Hood
Canal, up the middle of the property on the road that connects to the lodge road, up to the lodge to view the old
building,thenbacktothecars. WemetMarknearthecarsandhikedmostofthewaydownthebeachtrail,turning
around when we found a small slide area.
During the tour we talked about changes in the plan over the years, work done with the Tribal cultural agreement and
meetings with the Tribes. I explained that the entire property, when it was turned into a campground years ago, had
been disturbed to install underground utilities, water and septic systems. We ended the tour about 3:00pm.
