Garth Mann, Statesman continues to be a privately owned, family operated organization. As we are intimately involved through design, construction and operation, we take great care and pride in creating a quality community that delivers exceptional value to our residents. ln 1983, Statesman was the first developer/home builder in Western Canada to introduce the "villa" - one level, maintenance-free living for the parents of the Baby Boomers who were interested in downsizing allowing them the freedom to travel. Today, The Statesman Group continues to develop properties for these same Boomers as they look to downsize from their existing large single-family homes into maintenance free communities with full service; on-site property management. *ilTffiMTil STATESMAN GROUP OF COMPANIES PINE RIDGE MOUNTAIN & LAKEVIEW COMMUNIW RECREATION CENTRE tJ t 1), t .,tl t r \l ,il [| I 7-- t I * .I ..+1t f =:-.r'F SENIORS CARE ln addition to the four decades of traditional residential development, starting in 1992 Statesman's Manor Village Life Centers and Staywell Manors became some of the very first senior's facilities in Alberta and Arizona to offer a choice for the aging parents of the Boomers; where the emphasis was placed on the Preservation of lndependence while still providing increasing levels of support and rejuvenation. Statesman's Advanced Medical Group is now developing a collaboration of Medical Centers in conjunction with Supportive Care for Seniors in the Province of Ontario and Alberta. The Minister of Health, through Patient Centered Care, applauds this innovative concept which improves efficiencies and care. This recreational area has a population that grows by as much as ten-fold for 80 to 90 days each year. Pleasant Harbor is unique, with a 300 slip marina offering the opportunity for boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, clams & oysters & fishing, plus Golf Courses, plus an enviable year round temperature that has less rain than most realize. However, the area has struggled to attract growth & employment, and as a result it has not prospered in comparison to other similar communities such as Gig Harbor & San Juan lslands. When a population base does not have a healthy growth cycle, local businesses suffer. To sustain a community outside the usual prime 80 to 90 doys, a municipality requires diversification sustaining important tax revenues that are othemrise lost to the community. With a projected rise in the Washington population over the next 25 years, having quality amenities in the local area will be come critical in keeping young, working families in Puget Sound communities. Without such recreation opportunities, these families willfind themselves migrating towards areas that offer year-round activities.
