RE: Brinnon, Pleasant Harbor "Vision"
Thank you for this ltlichelle
The problem in achieving permitting in Jefferson County is exemplified by this letter from an attorney
representing a minority of people who do even not reside in the area.
One would think that they would request answers first before writing 6 pages of nonsense.
As we discussed, the referenced document was assembled in response to the demands imposed by
the Government to Government meeting in April 2016.
The S'Klallam Tribe had asked the County
Decrease the area of disruption due to an 18 hole golf course. (Therefore we complied with a 9
hole course)
Decrease the Density of the Development. (Therefore, we reduced the density by +/- 30
percent)
Protect the Kettles because of our spiritual heritage. (Therefore, we complied and relocated
the storm pond).
Protect the Surface Water Run-Off. (Which would be a requirement by Code)
It is much easier politically to say'No'than to say'Yes'.
By saying 'No', nothing happens. How can the public criticize?
By saying 'No', those who want to live in the past century with no employment simply make it
impossible for young people to remain in the area.
Eventually the community dies with the aging process and without any tax revenues to support the
area, all the lifestyle amenities also disappear.
Statesman simply answered the call for meeting the needs of an area which included a
recommended comprehensive plan for a Master Planned Resort, which was approved in 2008
(FErs).
Each time the Brinnon Group complained, we complied to their requests
Unfortunately they are really saying, "we want nothing progressive to be developed at or near our
reclusive area".
Statesman has spent too much money and time
It is up to the County to show their true colors.
Do you want a progressive development that is environmentally conducive to the area that will create
employment and tax revenues?

Do you want this area to continue to be a drain on the economy of the State of Washington, and will
eventually disappear without progressive leadership.
