RE:WDFW boat ramp road
Back in 2007-2008 when the draft FEIS was approved by BOCC with conditions, the proposed
developed included considerable construction on the Marina Lands, that was been serviced through a
road network off Black Point Road, and Highway 101
The road network for the proposed development included
o A Commercial Component and Family Fun Center on the corner of Black Point Rd. and HWY
101. Two Residential buildings (Reunion House and Davenport House) for short term rentals.o A Network of Retail Stores with Suites above adjacent to the shoreline at Pleasant Harbor.o A ZIP Line that was accessible from the Retail component.
With the County's amendment to the Shoreline Management Plan in 2010, all of these entities
disappeared.
All that remains is a version of the Commercial Center on the corner of Black Point Rd. & HWY
101 .
with 66 short term rental suites above.
Because the flow of traffic other than a Pedestrian Carriage Way, will no longer facilitate
access to the Marina, the anticipated traffic flow has decreased considerably.
(We have agreed to provide a minimum width secondary-access for the fire department on this
pedestrian access).
Based on the aforementioned, the realignment of the access to/from the Boat Launch on the
WDFW lands should no longer be a safety issue.
Please advise if you require further details

HiGarth
l'mgettingbacktoyouregardingtheWDFWboatlaunchroadthatyoumentionedinourl,zll,4lLimeetingand that
you'd like to keep it as it currently exists. My research in the FSEIS Volume 1 and 3 identifies that current configuration
of this road presents a public safety issue and the re-alignment of it is necessary to reduce this impact.
Based on the above in the FSEIS, the road will need to be re-aligned as planned and referenced in the FSEIS.
I also met with Don this morning to go over the MOU's. I will be contacting WDFW today to see if I can get some
response from them and to move forward on this MOU. l'll also contact Tom Aumock, (who is a retired Port Townsend
Fire Chief employed by DCD to cover Fire Marshall services for Jefferson County) and have him take a look at the Fire
MOU.
l'm still diligently working on getting the file in order.
Hope the New Year finds you well!
