Subject: Elk questions
Hello All
Sorrylneededtoexcusemyselfearlytoday. OnthedrivetoSeattlelthoughtofsomequestionsthatlwishlhad
thought to ask before I left.
1) ls there any history from the Tribe (or anyone) of the elk ever visiting the area while the campground was
operating at 7OO%? l'm thinking there was a lot of open and grassy areas on the property during that time.
2l Are there any old photos showing how much open and grassy areas there were in the campground in the 50s-
70s? l'm curious how that would compare to the resort proposal.
3) Why is the tribe so concerned about controlling where the elk choose to travel? Tim said the concern wasn't the
highway it was keeping the elk off Black Point. ls it because Black Point is a no shooting area so they cannot
hunt there? I know they freely hunt in other local areas, even on private property unless it is clearly posted "no
hu nting/no trespassing".
l'm eager to learn how the elk discussion ended
Thanks,
don
