Pleasant Harbor site visit?
Hello Patty and Kathleen,
As far as I know, you have not been able to schedule a site visit at the proposed Black Point MPR property. We tried last
fall but couldn't get schedules to work, fortunately Michelle was able to visit.
Now that the weather is improving, please consider finding time to look at the site. l'm very flexible for scheduling and
would look forward to showing you the Kettles, Wetlands, south bluff area, and the overall condition of the property
today. Twoorthreehoursofyourtimewouldallowforagoodwalkingtourtogiveyoufirsthandperspectiveofwhatis
there today, what remains of the old campground facilities, and how the proposed project fits this property.
lf you've already made a site visit let me know and l'llstop bothering you about it. lf you've seen it before and want to
see it again, I will happily be your tour guide.
Best Regards,
don

George:
After listening to your suggestion on Friday, I think you are exactly right in terms of encouraging the
community to become involved in a FARMER'S MARKETPLACE at THE MARITIME VILLAGE.
The Farmer's Marketplaces require a minimum of 15 small businesses.
Statesman would create the +/-3,000 square feet of lndoor-outdoor space for those aspiring group of
entrepreneurs who are interested in having their own operating businesses, such as:
* Fresh Garden Vegetables as seen in the attached Farmers Market in Oregon
* Sea Foods such as Clams, Oysters, Salmon Steaks
* Medical Cannabis
* Baked Pies, Cakes, Pastries, Fresh Breads
* Bottled Home Made Soups
* Arts & Crafts
* Fresh Fruits
* Specialty clothing line for women, men, children (we could build-in a couple change rooms)
* Educational Materials
* Jewelry, Purses
* Carvings / Statues / Art
* lce Cream & Frozen Yogurts
* ETC
Statesman would only provide those groceries that were was not in competition with the entrepreneurs, in
order to service the boaters at the Marina.
I like your idea. Please use your contacts in South CentralJefferson County and let's see how many respond to
being involved in THE MARITIME VILLAGE FARMER'S MARKETPLACE.
Perhaps you might want to speak to this opportunity at DCD's Council meeting in June 2OL7 ?
