RE: Line-by line discussion
Hi Garth:
Thank you for your inquiry via email dated May 18,2Ot7 pertaining to the wildlife management plan and the vegetation
management plan.
Ordinance 01-0128-08 Condition 63(l) requires the wildlife management plan "to prevent diminishment of tribal wildlife
resources cited in the Brinnon Sub-Area Plan (e.g., deer, elk, cougar, waterfowl, osprey, eagles, and bear), reduce the
potential for vehicle collisions on Hwy 101, reduce conflicts resulting from wildlife foraging on high-value landscaping
and attraction to fresh water sources, and to reduce the dangers to predators attracted to the area by prey or habitat,
and to reduce any danger to humans." A wildlife management plan is required. Once we receive and review the report,
I will be happy to forward it to WDFW and tribes as required by Condition 63(l).
I spoke with Brian Berryman on5/24 and sent him some examples of vegetation management plans the county has on
file on 5125. I told him the "forestry report" could be an attachment to the vegetation management plan but it needed
to include all the photos and attachments that were identified in it. Mitigating the invasive species and noxious weeds
would be identified in the vegetation management plan. The vegetation management plan, at a minimum, should
include the following:
1. Address noxious weeds and invasive species
2. Firewise safety
3. Methods of vegetation management
4. Sensitive area restrictions (streams/wetlands, etc.)
5. Chemical application removal and in case of a spill, identify clean-up method
6. Monitoring method(s)
The vegetation management plan is required by the FSEIS to address BoCC condition 63(s), (u), (v), & (w)
Both documents will become an appendix to the Development Agreement.
Please let me know if you have additional questions or concerns.

Patty and I spoke this morning and don't feel it necessary from our departments perspective to have Craig and Natalie at
the GTM on 619. However, we will leave it up to you to decide if you'd like them involved at this GTM.
