HomeMy WebLinkAbout147August L5,2OI7 TO: Jefferson County Commissioners: Kler, Sullivan and Dean FROM: Joe and Joy Baisch, Brinnon, Washington SUBJECT: August 14th Meeting: County Commission, Jefferson County DCD, Planning Commission Commissioners, It is time to move the Pleasant Harbor Project forward. The Planning Commission has published their report. lt is obvious that several members of the Planning Commission are against the Project. You have given everyone enough time to present their opinions. The Tribes were invited to the table at the beginning of the Sub Area Planning process. They did not attend or show any interest in the Brinnon Community's efforts to create a future vision. The Sub Area Plan was challenged with the same arguments that you are hearing from a few member of the Planning Commission. Our Vision prevailed with the Hearings Board. The Tribes were invited again, by the Developer, to participate in the process and chose not to present voice until the "final hour". An offer was made to the Objecting Tribe and again they refuse to sit down with the Developer? Commissioners, lt ls Decision Time... You just voted to ask Jefferson County Property owners for an additional 5.36/ Thousand to underwrite low income housing. Living wage job opportunities would be a better option. The Pleasant Harbor Development has the potential of doubling the tax base of Brinnon & ultimately enhancing that of Jefferson County. Please, step up and get this Project Goingl You owe it to your Property Owners who pay the County's Bills. JoOe and Joy Baisch, Brinnon, Washington
