Discussion and Potential Action re: 2021 Grant Funding Request Received After Deadline:
The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) received a funding request for additional funds after
the deadline of December 31, 2021 from the Quilcene Fair and Parade Association. The Committee
discussed whether to accept the amendment, or deny it. The LTAC Committee agreed to hear the
proposal. President Sharon Redmon presented the Quilcene Fair and Parade’s request. She gave a
breakdown of their costs for future advertising and upgrades. Quilcene Fair and Parade has partnered
with The Production Alliance for assistance in a robust website, web hosting, live streaming,
advertising and support outreach. Funds will also be used for banners and poles placed around the
community. Sharon noted the fair used some 2020 funds into 2021 for signage, but was unclear on
the reimbursement. The fair board would like to participate in a weekend of events with the Oyster
Race in Brinnon and The Worthington Manor for a dance night.
After discussion, Chair Eisenhour moved to approve the $6,000 grant request for Quilcene Fair and
Parade. Member Smeland seconded the motion. Motion carried. The recommendation will be
forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners for final approval.
Discussion and Potential Action re: Future Agenda Items: Chair Eisenhour discussed holding the
next meeting in August, date to be determined, to work on creating a budget and an outline of LTAC
due dates.
Chair Eisenhour adjourned the meeting at 1:29 p.m.
