SUBJECT: Request for Board of County Commissioners approval of residual CARES
Act and 1st American Rescue Plan Act(ARPA) tranche funding commitments
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Jefferson County has approximately$950,000 in residual CARES Act
funding. Additionally,the county has received the 1st tranche of ARPA funding($3.129 million). The
Board of County Commissioners wish to distribute these funds to finance eligible projects/programs
within the county focusing on our jurisdictional partners.
ANALYSIS: On Monday,July 19, 2021, during their regular meeting the Board discussed various
projects/programs for potential funding. The Board developed two lists: one for CARES and a second one
for ARPA. The attached spreadsheet contains both lists.
Staff requests the Board consider a motion to approve funding the projects on both lists. Staff also
requests that the motion include delegation of authority to the Interim County Administrator to sign grant
agreements associated with the approved funding list.
FISCAL IMPACT: This request, in and of itself,has no fiscal impact. It will,however, lead to various
agreements with fiscal impacts as indicated in the attachment.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board approve a motion approving the attached funding lists and
delegate authority to the Interim County Administrator to sign the associated grant agreements.
