Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC)
Special Meeting Minutes July 16,2021 — 1:00 p.m.
Jefferson County Commissioners Chambers
(Virtual Meeting)
Members: Chair Heidi Eisenhour, Diana Smeland, Shelly Leavens, Larry McKeehan, Joe Alfano
Staff: LTAC Clerk Adiel McKnight
Chair Heidi Eisenhour called the meeting to order at the appointed time. Members Shelly Leavens
and Joe Alfano participated in the meeting remotely. Member Smeland appeared remotely late.
Approval of Special Meeting Minutes: Chair Eisenhour moved to approve the Special Meeting
Minutes of March 4, 2021 as presented. Member Leavens seconded the motion with adjustment. The
motion carried.
Discussion and Potential Action re: 2021 Supplemental Funding and Call for Request for
Proposals (RFP's): Chair Eisenhour advised the committee that there were excess funds and
wanted to send out supplemental RFP's for the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) for 2021
and with that an estimated fund of$600,000 for 2022. Member Leavens believed this would benefit
members for the committee including herself for the remainder of 2021. Chair Eisenhour also asked
if there were any other organizations that could benefit from LTAC and the supplemental funds.
Chair Eisenhour discussed the timeline of the supplementals and if approved will be sent out today.
These RFP's are due July 30, 2021 by 4:30 p.m. with review August 3, 2021.
Chair Eisenhour moved that the LTAC committee recommends the supplemental round of funding
for 2021 in the amount of$250.000 to be granted by the application process outlined in the request
for proposals distributed today. Member Leavens seconded. Motion carried.
Discussion and Potential Action re: 2022 Funding Assessment and RFP Timeline: Chair
Eisenhour discussed the timeline of the 2022 RFP to be sent out early September, 2021 with
deadline October 30, 2021 and review in mid-November, 2021.
Chair Eisenhour adjourned the meeting at 1:30 p.m.
