About Us
Located in the North Olympic Peninsula on
the Northwest tip of the continental US,
Jefferson County stretches 2,100 square
miles from the Pacific Ocean to Puget Sound.
The Olympic Mountain range goes through
the center of the county, with national and
state parks scattered throughout the land.
Port Townsend is the center of this vibrant
rural community with an active arts and
tourism scene, maritime recreation, and
diverse economy. A full time population of
approximately 32,190 citizens call Jefferson
County home.

Service Delivery
All Community Health Division services
are provided by JCPH or in partnership
with Jefferson Healthcare, school
districts, or other community
organizations. The programs
administered by the Community Health
Division Director are a range of federal,
state and local programs.
Successful Candidate:
Master’s degree in Nursing, Health
Administration, Public Health, or
related field, or combination of
related undergraduate education &
experience to equate to a Master’s
Degree
At least three (3) years
progressively responsible
supervisory public health
experience or an equivalent
combination of education and
experience

Salary and Benefits
The Community Health Division
Director is an executive position,
exempt from FLSA. The starting full-
time position monthly salary is
$6,033.48 to $8,108.49 depending on
experience.
Benefits include medical, dental,
vision coverage; dependents can be
covered at additional cost. County
employees are covered by the
Washington State Public Employee
Retirement System
(PERS).
