HomeMy WebLinkAbout090721ca01Consent Agenda JEFFERSON COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST TO: Board of Commissioners FROM: Mark McCauley, interim County Administrator DATE: September 7, 2021 RE: Resolution — In the Matter of Finding and Determination to Declare Certain Personal Property as Surplus and Authorize Trade -In STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Central Services Department seeks Commissioner approval to trade-in a piece of ER&R equipment that is scheduled to be replaced. The value of the trade-in will help offset the purchase cost of the new equipment. The new equipment is being purchased through WA State Department of Enterprise Services, a purchasing cooperative that adheres to the competitive bid requirements of Washington State. ANALYSIS: Not Applicable FISCAL IMPACT: The trade-in value of the grader is $61,000. RECOMMENDATION: Approve and sign the attached resolution authorizing the grader to be traded -in to net the best pM,D c for 'p ` scheduled to be replaced. And Authorize Trade -In } WHEREAS, certain assets belonging to Jefferson County have been identified as no longer required for County purposes; and WHEREAS, the asset identified is scheduled to be replaced using a cooperative purchasing agency; and WHEREAS, utilizing the cooperative purchasing agency satisfies the formal bid process as defined in RCW 39.34.030, and WHEREAS, the cooperative purchasing agency has offered to accept the used asset as a part payment for the new equipment purchase price, and WHEREAS, RCW 36.34.070 allows for the Board of County Commissioners to consider and accept trade-in allowances to determine the net best sale and purchase for the County. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners hereby declares the property on attached Exhibit "A" be used as a trade-in to net the best sale and purchase price for the County. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners hereby directs the Jefferson County Auditor to remove the equipment on the attached list from the Jefferson County Equipment Inventory.
