BUDGET TRANSFERS -- ASSESSOR'S OFFICE
AND JUVENILE/FAMILY COURT SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Assessor's Office and the
Juvenile/Family Court Services Department have requested budget
transfers, necessitated by expenses not anticipated at the time of
preparing their budgets, in order to balance their 1988 Budgets of
Expenditures; and
WHEREAS, due to there being sufficient funds in other
categories within these budgets to allow the requested transfers;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of
Commissioners, that the County Auditor be,
authorized to make the following transfers:

Gentlemen:
Please be advised that after a thorough examination of my current budget,
it appears that an adjustment should be made within the Juv DetentionBudget
of Expenditures for the above-named department,
Due to there being sufficient funds in other accounts within the budget
of this department to permit the necessary adjustment(s), I hereby request
the following transfer(s) :

Reason for Transfer (s) :
The detention budget for juveniles for 1988 is going "off the wall ". At the payment of the
May billings, the Juv Detention budget for Kitsap County payments was in arrears $3.60 and
"more IS a-coming". In addíti on, there have been sub-contracts developed with Thurston County
and with Cowlitz County for special holds because of unique circumstances for 2 and 1 youth
respectively. The historical view does not give much confidence in a change since 1986 reported
9 youths held 20 days by 5-31-86; 1987 reported 20 youths held 84 days by 5-31-~; and 1988
data reports 13 youths held 155 days by 5-31-38. ~7
This transfer protects the current 'negative run' but does not alleviate the need for a bud-
