The meeting was called to orqer by Acting Chairman B.G. Brown,
in .the. absence of Chairman JohnL. Pitts.., Cmnmissioner Larry W. Dennison

was present. I
Jefferson Clerk, Marianne Waltersre: Transfer of Funds
from Crime ict1ms un. to C er s Trust Account: n t e recommen ation
of Marianne Walters, Co~nty Clerk, Commissioner Dennison moved to approve
the transfer of $33.00 ~rom the Crime Victim Compensation Fund to the
Clerk's Trust Account for disbursement as restitution as per Court Order.
Chairman Brown secondedi the motion. ..

,
Peter Simpsoni, Director, Clallam Jefferson Community Action
Council re: Update on B~innon Senior Center Project: Peter Simpson
accompani~d by Bill Pol~ak, Project Director, came before the Board to
update them on the Brinpon Senior Center/Motel Project, as follows:
I .
* Appraisal: County As~essor Jack Westerman is reviewing the
appraisal: of fair market value. When he is finished
it will bb up to the Board to establish just compen-
sation (which can not be less than the fair market
value estkblished by the appraisal, but can be more)
and enter! into negotiations with the Motel owners.
* Water System: Bill Pbllak reported that he had obtained a copy of
the well ~og from the original well driller because the
DOE had m~splaced their GOPy and water samples have been
taken, tested and come bq.ck satisfactory. There is no
problem w~th the water quality or quantity from the well
currentlyi used by the motel. There may be a problem
getting DpHS approval of the well, however, due to the
proximityi of the well to the Highway right-of-way.
I
A letter ~as received from the DSHS District Engineer
that indi~ated that it would be their preference if
a previou~ly approved source of water could be found
for the p~oject rather than using the well that is
there, anp there is another approved well in the area,
that bein~ the Piccini well.
I
In order ~o acquire the easements and to physically
establishl the water line from the Piccini well to the
Motel, would, however, be fairly costly and could poss-
ibly requ~re some additional pumps in that well to
boost the! pressure that woul be needed to pump the
water that distance. Fot: th present, Mr. Pollak advised,
he is goihg to pursue a prov sional approval of the
existing well at the site.
I .
I
* Advisory & Governing ]Board: Peter Simps n reported that he will be
meeting w~th the newly appoi ted members of the two
Boards to! begin the organiza ional process.
I .

Acting Public Works Di-rfector Gary Rowe reported that the Public Works
Department has been in :j::ontact with the District Manager of Puget
Power about moving the ipoles in this area and puget' Power indicated
that they want to see tfhe plans for the area before they will agree to
consider rqoving these pples. Moving the poles, however, is only part
of what neieds to be dOrle to improve thi.s intersection, Gary Rowe con-
tinued. The Public Wonks Department is working on the design of the
entire int,e section and: trying to determine the impacts the improve-
