John Boulton re; Propose Leland Valley Dainage District:
John Boulton, representing affect property owners!!, apprise the Board
of the drainage problems facing t_e Leland Valley. IMr. Boulton re-
ported that 36 years ago the property owners united'! to alleviate this
same problem but nothing has been done since and La' e Leland is now
two feet higher than it was in 19 7.

floods every year and is a hazzar to driving. Thel'State Highway Depart-
ment is considering a $90,000 project to raise the; ighway six feet along
this section, but this would not improve the draina' e. In;L?dvising

was informed that the State can not deal with a gro; p of property owners
unless they form a drainageimpro ement district. if this was done the
State may consider working Wlth that District to imp: ove Highway 101.

owners to form a Drainage Improve ent District was 'resented by Mr.
Boulton. The Public Works depart ent will researchlthis problem and
the necessary procedures for the formation of the D,ainage Improvement
District and will set up another eeting with Mr. B,ulton for January
