O'Meara. Commissioner B.G. Brown and Commissiloner John L. Pitts were in attendance. I: i Blair Wolfley, Extension Agent re; Planning Ifor the future: County Extension Agent, Blair Wolfley, explained two projects to the Board, that are currently being undertaken by Washington Stat~ University. 1) A project to help counties develop better inf!ormation on future needs and development. Washington Stal1:. e University would like to use Jefferson County as a pilot! county for developing this project. I: . i 2) A "Local Gove,rnment Education" pro ject deSignl~. d to instruct people, coming into decision making positionsl in local and county governments (who may not have any background in government) how to obtain the information the~ need to do their jobs effectively. ~ An introductory meeting will be held Friday at 1:30 p. . in the Planning Department with the representatives from W.S.U. Blair' extended on invitation to the Board to attend. This schedule w'uld allow the depu,ties to keep their car for the five days of their, ~'h,ift. They would turn the car into the County Shop at the end of their ,eek and pick it up again after two days off. This schedule will allow fo backup if needed and a spare car will be available for unexpected breakrlowns. . Regular mai~tenance will be performed every third week! on each car. The Board advised Mr. Booth that since the Equipment Rentall and Revolving (E.R.&R) Fund is responshile for the maintenance of these vehiclles, he should check with Public 'Works, who manages the fund, to see if thils scheduling will . work for th~m. The Board gave their tentative approvall of the schedule, if it meets wi~h the appr val of the Public Works Departmrnt.
