City of Port Angeles has qrtly recently become involved in funding h man siervices(Funding of huma services projects went from $30,000 ann ally !to $120,000 annually since iworking through the County) and since Clall~m County already had th ~echanism in place the City relied on th m fori administering their fun s.i Carol Owens, Clallam Human Services Coordinatori then outlined Clallam County's prog am: 1) A Standardize1 form is given to all agencies and programs requesting fu ds. ,The form asksfor the follqwing: a) Total fun ing sources available to the program. b) Portion o~ funding being requested and from whom, City or C unty. c) What the mpact, will be on the program if the funding i not :recei ved. d) The agenc 's cQst of providing their serv~ce. 2) All requests re then given to citizens ad isdry boards who visit the agendies to make themselves fam~liar with the services eing iPr'ovided. These boards then rate each request andm ke r~commendations for fundi g ~evels. 3) The seven memJer Co'ordinating Council then ,eviews the advisory board's reicommendations and come u ~ith a total yearly fundin reqqest for presentation to th~ City and the County. They breakdown the request into f ,dfng levels which outline the p:rpgrams to be funded at eaqh level.
