This is my official request to speak at the meeting concerning 1150 Shine Road. Please advise
me when this will take place. These are the topics I want to address.
In our world there is a shortage of food and we on the Hood Canal have the ability to provide
much needed protein that has a sustainable supply.
1. No fields of grain needed to feed Geoduck Clams.
2 No smelly stockyards.
Shellfish farming is good for the people - good for the environment and does no harm to our
beautiful Hood Canal. One oyster cleans 50 gallons of water a dayl Geoduck "fields" are almost
unseen as only 16% of the tube is exposed and most of that is during the night. We need more
of the ability to plant and cultivate these clams.
Our shellfish farmers must have clean healthy water and they are great stewards of our
waterways.
