STATE OF WASHINGTON COUNTY OF JEFFERSON IN THE MATTER OF NOTICE OF INTENT TO DECLARE SURPLUS PROPERTY AND INTENTION TO SELL SURPLUS COUNTY REAL PROPERTY ) ) ) RESOLUTION NO. 12-98 WHEREAS, after due consideration, and in contemplation of the language of the statute R.C.W. 36.34.130 and R.C.W. 39.33.020, it appears to the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners that it is in the public interest to declare the attached described real property as Surplus Property, all situate in the State of Washington, County of Jefferson. WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners to dispose of such Surplus, as indicated on the attached legal description, and made a part of this Resolution, and said sale shall be concluded with another political subdivision, the Chimicum School District for the purposes of constructing a public school facility, for the purchase price of $120,000.00. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners shall set a date and place for a Public Hearing and Notice of Hearing shall be published as required by R.C.W. 36.34.020 particularly describing the real surplus property proposed to be sold, the intended use for said property and designating the place where, the day and hour, when the hearing will be held for such consideration. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Public Works Director/County Engineer is hereby directed to examine said property and report her opinion as to whether this property should be sold and all other facts, matters and things which will be of importance to the Board of County Commissioners, and that such report shall be submitted to the Board of County Commissioners at, or prior to, the date fixed for said public hearing pursuant to aforementioned Notice of Hearing. NOW, BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, Notice is hereby given that a PUBLIC HEARING will be held by the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners , February~, 1998, at 2:00 P.M. at the Jefferson County Courthouse, Commissioners Chambers, Port Townsend Washington, for the purpose of taking testimony concerning the declaration of surplus property and the aforementioned intent to sell surplus property to the Chimacum School District for the purposes of construction of a public school facility. Enclosed for your review, is the Resolution regarding the declaration of surplus property, intent to sell said property to the Chimacum School District, and establishment of the Public Hearing Date. Our intent is to advertise twice and post the Hearing Notice on site at least 10 days prior to the Hearing Date. Therefore we will need to place this resolution on the Consent Agenda, 2/2/98.
