In the Matter of Amending the Salary
Schedule Attachment A for the Elected
Offices of Assessor, Auditor, Clerk,
Treasurer, Sheriff, and Prosecuting Attorney
RESOLUTION NO 04-03
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners set the salaries of elected officials. The
annual salaries of the elected offices of Assessor, Auditor, Clerk, Treasurer, Sheriff and
Prosecuting Attorney were placed on a compensation system by passage of Resolution No. 43-98
which allowed these officials to be treated with the same parity, consistency and uniformity as
other non-represented officials; and,
WHEREAS, after a review of the salary schedule Resolution No. 10-01 was
adopted to make the Elected Officials salaries consistent and comparable to the salaries paid
similar positions in other counties; and,
WHEREAS, the passage of Resolution No. 17-02 in 2002 suspended the
"automatic" annual adjustment to the compensation schedule for Elected Officials as provided in
Attachment A of Resolution No. 43-98 to control expenditures; and,
WHEREAS, Resolution 17-02 does allow such adjustment if after review by the
Board of Commissioners and the adjustment is set by resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED, by the Board of County Commissioners
that in order that the Elected Officials (except the Commissioners) be treated with the same
parity, consistency and uniformity as other non-represented officials the annual salary for the
elected Ass,essor, Auditor, Clerk, Treasurer, Sheriff, and Prosecuting Attorney for 2003 shall be
set at the rates as established in the attached, updated ATTACHMENT A.
