Dilly-Dally Drive X
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has received a petition to name a private
road Dilly-Dally Alley, or Dilly-Dally Drive, or Dilly-Dally Lane as shown on attached Exhibit "A",
pursuant to Jefferson County 911 Ordinance Number 2-0401-91 and;
WHEREAS, the petitioner is a property owner on this road, and;
WHEREAS, the petitioner wishes to establish this road name to allow for addr~ssing along
the road and eliminate confusion due to similar road names as required by the Jefferson County
911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance and;
WHEREAS, research has shown that there are no addresses assigned on this milepost
number at this time that will be affected by establishing the road name as shown on attached
Exhibit "B";
WHEREAS, notification was sent to interested parties and;
WHEREAS, a response was received by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office as shown
on attached Exhibit "C" and;
WHEREAS, a response was received by the Jefferson County Fire District #2 as shown
on attached Exhibit "D" and;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the road be named Dilly-Dally Drive.

Please be advised that the Department of Public Works has received a petition to name a
private road that may affect your address or in is your jurisdiction.
A copy of the petition with the road name choices and a map with the road highlighted
has been enclosed for your review.
A tentative date has been set with the Board of County Commissioners on August 18,
2003 to consider the petition.
Please contact the Department by phone or in writing if you have any
comments or concerns regarding this petition prior to August 8, 2003.

RE: Road Petition (Dilly Dally Alley)
Dear Public Works:
In reference to the notification of naming the driveway to Dilly Dally Alley, we do not
have a preference between the three options. Our main concerns are is as follows:
I) A road sign and the installation are paid for prior to being named.
2) The road name is easy to pronounce and understand over the radio.
3) The road name is not similar to another name within the County.
4) If so an identifier such as SW, SE, NW or NE could be added to the name, thus
enabling the emergency response personnel to quickly ill the area in which the
road is located.
