Home My WebLink About057 03 , C~··, A~ ~ T ('("G\S ql.,2~/03 FDI , "5r.tr\ ç,ç. t\S~$\\ STATE OF WASHINGTON County of Jefferson IN THE MATTER OF ANNEXATION OF UNPROTECTED LAND INTO THE BOUNDARIES OF JEFFERSON COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT NO.1 } } } } RESOLUTION NO. 57-03 WHEREAS, the boundaries of Jefferson County Fire Protection District No. 1 were established in May of 1948 and subsequently expanded by Resolution C627 (December 20,1965), C-664 (December 19, 1966), and C-665 (December 19, 1966); and, WHEREAS, the Board of Fire Commissioners of Jefferson County Fire Protection District No. 1 have, by adoption of a Resolution No. 2003-05, requested that the boundaries of said Fire District be amended to include the unprotected lands contiguous to the current fire district boundaries, but not originally included within the Fire District upon its' establishment; and, WHEREAS, after review of the request submitted by the Fire District #1 Commissioners, State and County regulations, the following findings are made: 1. The annexation of these unprotected properties into the Fire Protection District is in the public interest and conducive to the public safety, welfare, and convenience of the people who live, work and recreate in this area. 2. A petition signed by over 60% of the qualified registered electors residing within the territory proposed to be annexed was found to be sufficient by the County Auditor 3. The Board of Fire Commissioners of Fire Protection District #1 concur with the proposed annexation. 4. In accordance with RCW 52.04 an election in the territory and a hearing on the petition shall be dispensed with. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED, by the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County, that the request of the Board of Commissioners of Fire Protection District #1 is approved. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners of Jefferson County Fire Protection District No.1 does adopt a resolution accepting the annexation petition set forth in the following legal description and plat of the boundaries of the area to be annexed; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in accordance with RCW 52.04.031, this resolution was adopted after the public hearing has taken place in response to RCW 52.04.041.
