Establishing Centralized Purchasing
of Information/Communication Technologies
RESOLUTION NO. 71-03
WHEREAS, the Information Services division of the Department of Central
Services is responsible for maintaining information and communications technologies; and,
WHEREAS, the Information Services division is responsible for establishing the
technological platform and protocols for information and communications systems through out the
County; and,
WHEREAS, the Information Services division utilizes economies of scale in its
relationship with suppliers to enhance the purchasing power of the County in the purchase and
maintenance of systems and system components; and,
WHEREAS, in order to assure information and communication technology
purchases maintain a common platform and are supported by staff as part of the County
maintained system, a central point of responsibility is required.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that all purchases of information and
communication technology which are to be part of the County system, or which are to be
maintained by County personnel, or are to be purchased or maintained or serviced through the
expenditure of County funds shall be made by the Information Services division or as may be
authorized by the Director of Central Services.
