Intent to Form an Emergency Services
Communication District
pursuant to RCW 82.14B.070

RESOLUTION NO, OR-n?
WHEREAS, Jefferson County, through the Office of the Sheriff, operates a
Emergency Services Communication System (E-911) on behalf of the citizens of Jefferson
County and local emergency services providers; and
WHEREAS, in the Year 2000 an E-911 Users Group was formed by an Interim
Interlocal Agreement for the purpose of reviewing the operations of the E-911 system and
making recommendations to the Sheriff and Board of Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, it has been the expressed intent of the Users Group to become self
supporting and self governing, and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of Commissioners to use the Year 2002 as
a transition year to move the operations of the E-911 Center towards self governance.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOL VED, the Jefferson County Board of
Commissioners does hereby intend to form a Emergency Services Communication District
pursuant to RCW 82.14B.070.
BE IT FURTHER RESOL VED, that the public hearing for the formation of this
district is hereby scheduled for Monday, January 28, 2002 at 2:00 p. m. in the Commissioners'
Chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse.
