In the Matter of Establishing a }
Cash Drawer for the Jefferson }
County Health & Human Services }
RESOLUTION NO. 09-02
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Heath and Human Services Office requested the
establishment of a cash box in the amount of $20.00, for cash transactions involved with selling
animal licenses; and,
WHEREAS, the Health and Human Services Department has found that
establishment of such a box would be in the best interest of the County to ensure compliance
with the Revenue Handling Policy and provide increased internal control; and,
NO1¥, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED, that the Board of Jefferson County
Commissioners that the Jefferson County Health and Human Services Department be granted a
Cash Box in the amount of $20.00 and the County Treasurer be authorized to issue a Treasurer's
check in the amount of $20.00 payable to the Jefferson County Health and Human Services
Department.
BE IT FURTHER RESOL VED, that the Cash Box shall be used only by
authorized users, and shall be balanced and replenished as needed and following the procedures
outline by the Revenue Handling Policy.

On January 1, 2002, we will begin selling animal licenses at the Health Department. In order to provide
this service and to meet basic auditing requirements, we are requesting $20.00 for a new cash box. Let me
