In the Matter of Providing a Positive Cash
Balance for Newly Created Funds
Established in the 2003 Budget RESOLUTION NO 73-02
WHEREAS, the 2003 Jefferson County Budget moved (5) departments from
the General Fund and created them as Special Revenue Funds; and,
WHEREAS, Special Revenue Funds need 10% fund balance reserves
(approximately two months of expenditures) to operate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the County Treasurer be and
is hereby authorized to transfer funds from the General Fund in the total amount of
$332,000.00 to the (5) Special Revenue Funds (see attachment A) to be held as Restricted
Fund Balances.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Restricted Fund Balances shall be
used to provide funding to maintain a positive cash balance for said funds.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that the disclosure for transfer of such funds
shall be made as an Equity Transfer on the County's Annual Financial Statements.
