A-U ~J-.t.J . d- - (¿. . 0 I STATE OF WASHINGTON County of Jefferson In the Matter of In the Matter of Appointing a Director of Emergency Management } } } RESOLUTION NO. 13-01 WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners provides emergency management policy guidance and legislative support in time of emergency and they have the responsibility for overall direction of emergency response and recovery; and, WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Emergency Management Plan, adopted by Resolution No. 80-96 on September 16, 1996, defines the roles and responsibilities of each element of County government, and the relationship to the overall emergency management organization and meets the requirements of RCW 38,52; and, WHEREAS, the emergency management organization identified throughout the Jefferson County Emergency Management Plan is established in the Sheriff's Office and the Jefferson County Sheriff has been designated as the Director of Emergency Management; and, WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners have established the position and Office of the County Administrator through the adoption of Ordinance No. 09-1002-00 to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the executive and administrative functions that constitute part of the governmental structure for Jefferson County, NOW; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED, that the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners hereby appoints the County Administrator as the Director of Emergency Management and that this position is authorized to make decisions on behalf of Jefferson County for the development, administration, and execution of a program of disaster preparedness according to the Emergency Management Plan. ."
