In the matter of }
Reorganization of the }
Public Works Department }
RESOLUTION NO. 49-01
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department was created by the Board of County Commissioners by
Resolution No. 45.71, and
WHEREAS, Resolution 20-01 was adopted reorganizing departments reporting to the County
Administrator, and
WHEREAS, WAC 136.10.050 requires adoption of an organization chart for the Public Works
Department, and
WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners adopted Ordinance No. 09-1002-00 granting
specific authorities and responsibilities to the County Administrator for the organization, operation,
and administration of County government, and
NOW; THEREFORE BE IT RESOL VED, that the Jefferson County Department of Public Works be
reorganized to establish the positions of Director of Public Works and of County Engineer as separate
positions effective April 1, 2001.
BE IT FURTHER RESOL VED, that the County Engineer shall carry out the statutory duties as required
by RCW 36.75 and 36,80 and shall report to the Director of Public Works.
BE IT FURTHER RESOL VED, that the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners does hereby
expressly authorize the County Administrator to appoint a Public Works Director and County Engineer
and such appointee shall serve as per the Revised Code of Washington and in accord with County
Ordinance No. 09-1002-00.
BE IT FINALLY RESOL VED, that the attached Exhibit A, Jefferson County Department of Public
Works organizational chart be adopte~ , [
