To the contrary, I've provided detailed sourcesbelow for every single one of my statements inlast month's public comment, so Berry cancriticize them individually if she chooses. I'm not sure where she gotthis number, but I was able to find a populararticle title "Face masks may reduce COVID-19spread by 85%, WHO-backed study suggests", whichwas sourced to a complicated Lancet meta-analysisthat made no such claim, but was summarized by WHO as follows: "A systematic review of observational studies ...suggested that N95 or similar respirators mightbe associated with greater reduction in risk thanmedical or 12– 16-layer cotton masks. However, these studies had important limitations (recall bias, limited information about the situations when respirators were used and limited ability tomeasure exposures), and very few studies includedin the review evaluated the transmission risk of COVID-19." I don't know if you want to respond. Dr. Allison Berry: I really respect theavailability of public comments and encouragefolks to utilize it. Unfortunately I think bothof these commentators really demonstrate thedanger of vaccine misinformation. That was justa slurry of outright falsehoods, which isdangerous. So I think it is important for us totouch base on the sheer volume of data that isavailable about the safety of this vaccine, aboutthe safety and effectiveness of masks. If you arelooking on how to access that data, you don'thave to actually email me to get it, it ispublicly available on the Washington StateDepartment of Health website and publiclyavailable on the CDC's website. These are someof the most tested vaccines we have everseen. Hundreds of millions of people havereceived them over the past year, and we havebeen monitoring their safety throughout thattime. You can look at that entire amount of dataif you like. I encourage you to look at it ifyou have questions. There is a lot of itavailable; you can look at it yourself, and it'sfreely available on the CDC and WashingtonDepartment of Health websites. There's also amassive amount of data that wearing a mask reduces transmission by 80%. Getting vaccinated dramatically reduces your risk of both contracting and transmitting the virus. Nothingis 100%, and that's why the masks come in. Themasks aren't 100%, but they reduce your risk by80%. The vaccines are not 100% when they arefaced with Delta variant; we're looking atreduced risk of about 85%. So those two thingstogether are the best tools you have to protectyourself and keep yourself safe. I think it'sjust also important to touch base on the massiveamount of data we have on the safety of thesevaccines in pregnancy and breastfeedingparents. That's probably the most key things Iwant you to know. The other thing is themisinformation about the vaccine. There havebeen no documented deaths due to the Covid-19virus in either of the counties that Ioversee. This is often due to a misreading ofVAERS data by people who are not really used toreading that data. Human beings do die. Thefirst round of people that we vaccinated werevery, very elderly. So many of them dideventually go on to die due to age. But thereare no documented death in our region due to the Covid-19 vaccine.[ending 20:50] --- Dosing and discrimination - abbreviated at BoCC 9/13/21 --- Dear Board of County Commissioners, It was interesting to see a new study finding"for boys 12-15 without medical comorbiditiesreceiving their second mRNA dose, the rate ofCardiac Adverse Events is 3.7 to 6.1 times higherthan their 120-day COVID-19 hospitalizationrisk". And of course myocarditis is only one ofmany adverse events reported for these vaccines. But what really struck me was a comment saying,"This study completely misses the point of youngkids getting vaccinated. ... Whether or not theyare at high risk relative to the adverse sideeffects, they should be vaccinated to reduce theprobability of older, more at-risk people from getting it." That's not just some random troll saying weshould knowingly harm children to preventpotential harm to adults. ... I heard the exactsame response from a Jefferson County physicianwhen I asked him about kids' risk versus benefitat a Farmers' Market pop-up vaccine clinic a couple months ago. When doctors promote harming children to reducetransmission, not only are they betraying theirown Hypocratic Oath, they are doing so for nogood reason, because the FDA acknowledges there is no evidence that the vaccine can "reduce transmission of the virus". This well-known fact belies and makes ridiculous the current discrimination in our county againstthose unwilling to disclose HIPAA-protectedhealth information concerning their vaccination status. And it's not only kids who risk more harm thanbenefit... those enjoying robust natural immunityafter getting covid have nothing to gain andeverything to lose from this vaccine. Likewisethe immunocompromised, those who had adversereactions to previous vaccines, pregnant andnursing mothers, and many others should never consider taking this vaccine. Yet all these people now face widespreaddiscrimination. Should those who have beenjabbed twice feel happy and self-righteous thatthey are not currently the target of this discrimination? Consider that the entire highly-vaccinatedpopulation of Israel has just been reclassifiedas unvaccinated, because their Health Ministersays, "the vaccine is valid only for a period offive or six months. After about half a year, youhave to get a third dose. Otherwise, the vaccine loses its power.” The Times of Israel reports that "the 'GreenPass' system ... will expire six months after theholder received their second or third dose ...The ministry could not yet say if a fourth dosewould be required in six months." Suppose you or a loved one had a bad reaction tothe second dose... would you really feel saferisking a third, fourth, etc. dose every 6 months indefinitely into the future? Do we as a society really want to sign up for anendless subscription service of barely-testedso-called vaccines that fail to preventtransmission and lose effectiveness in under sixmonths... coupled with discrimination and hatreddrummed up against those who don't?
