Share air time and encourage all members to participate DRAFT MINUTES The October 20th, 2021 meeting of the Empowered Teens Coalition was held at the Zoom meeting 3:30 – 4:30 PURPOSE OF THE MEETING: Reports: community update and news; Policy intern report; Coalition Assessment Tool; Joint Superintendents report; scheduling. Facilitators for this meeting: Denise Banker In attendance: Mark Gudger (Education), Lindsay Scalf (Other Substance Abuse coalition), Joe Nole (Law Enforcement), Chris HoffmanHill (Civic), Ciela Meyer (Mental Health), Greg Brotherton (Government), Cheryl Weinstein (Dove House, Business), Margaret Yesberger (Discovery Behavioral Health., Youth Serving org.), Dana Milagrosa,(Discovery Behavioral Health, Mental Health), Rachel Rae (Other Prevention Coalition), Josh Fey (Law Enforcement, PA), Samuel Swenson-Daly (SAP, ESD 114), Donnette Boyett, (Discovery Behavioral Health, Mental Health) Time/Facilitator Activity 3:30 Denise Called meeting to order. Approve Agenda: Joe, Greg, all; Minutes: Cheryl, Ciela, all. 3:35 All Check in and Update: New members introduced themselves; Update on PAX GBG policy brief; School district report: Mark reported on Character Strong and school morale; Denise and Greg reported on Joint Superintend meeting; Ciela reported on progress re. OESD 114 overseeing and subcontracting with Hargrove Fund funding for MH counselors in the schools; Samuel updated on Student Assistance program activities; Joe and Donnette reported on Navigator positions and funding; Josh and Rachel discussed the safe storage bags and cost to PAHY Coalition, strategy for spend down; Denise announced she has taken another position in Public Health and that we’re looking for her replacement on the Coalition. 4:00 All ~Mark and Denise will reach out to Carrie Beebe. the Portfolio teacher re. Life Skills, and will discuss when and how to schedule vaping prevention. ~ Follow up with Samuel and Ciela re. The November 17th, 2021 meeting of the Empowered Teens Coalition will be held at the Via Zoom from 3:30-4:30, unless otherwise notified. ALCOHOL AND OTHER DRUG PREVENTION IS GOOD WORK.
